What not to miss – R4 v Roar

Just in case you needed more reasons to be excited for Saturday’s away trip to take on Brisbane Roar at Moreton Daily Stadium…

Rebound potential

Following back-to-back losses in the last two weeks, Victory head north in the hopes of revitalising their early season form.

Victory have only lost consecutive league games under Tony Popovic on one previous occasion, back in February this year, immediately following which the team went on a 16-game unbeaten run in the league.

A proven ability to bounce back strongly from consecutive poor results bodes well for Popovic’s side, who will no doubt be intent on a dramatic course-correction against Brisbane.

A first win in Redcliffe?

Victory will play their third ever A-League Men’s game at Moreton Daily Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Victory have a winning record at Brisbane’s traditional home of Suncorp Stadium and they will be intent on establishing a similar pattern in Redcliffe.

The first two contests at Moreton Daily Stadium have resulted in a loss followed by a draw – surely a win is next in the sequence?

A new midfield composition

Josh Brillante’s suspension opens the door for a potentially fresh face to enter the Victory midfield against Brisbane.

Off-season acquisition Nathan Konstandopoulos has made two appearances off the bench already this season, whilst the ever-reliable Leigh Broxham is always an option with his versatility.

How Popovic opts to adjust his midfield dynamic will certainly be worth observing.

Sunny Queensland

A hot and sunny day is forecast for Saturday’s clash, offering a stark contrast in conditions to Victory’s previous three league games.

A first afternoon game of the campaign will present a fresh challenge to the squad, especially considering the likely heat.

The travelling contingent of Victory fans will get to enjoy the weather whilst seeing their side compete in daylight for the first time since the last trip to Queensland back in April.

Away days

Speaking of Victory’s travelling contingent, the bar has been set very high by the incredible support displayed in the previous interstate game against Sydney FC.

Once again justifying their status as the best fans in the country, a healthy selection of the Victory faithful will no doubt be in attendance over the weekend showcasing their passion and support.
