Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce South American Style (SAS) Academy as its inaugural Pathway Partner – Academy.
The new partnership will see Melbourne Victory’s Pre-Academy team work closely with leaders at SAS to support the holistic development of footballers.
Through its Pathway Partners model, Melbourne Victory will support SAS access through providing access to coaching methodology, online coaching events and entry into pre-academy programs.
Melbourne Victory’s Managing Director, Caroline Carnegie said this is a unique partnership model that tries to drive great cohesion and collaboration in the delivery of football.
“We are excited to partner with the SAS Academy in what will be an important component of the Club’s pathway strategy,” Carnegie said.
“SAS Academy provides an established and respected partner that focuses on developing and preparing young footballers.
“Hopefully the support of Melbourne Victory will help inspire these players to achieve their footballing goals.”
Melbourne Victory’s Director of Football, John Didulica said the aim of this partnership is to enhance the footballing experience for players and their families.
“Bringing some clarity to parents on the operation of pathways within football for young players is very important to us,” Didulica said.
“We hope that we can develop a model where we can work in partnership with groups from across Victoria to help facilitate this clarity and drive greater and more visible access to the sport at the professional level.
“SAS has a proud ethos of developing respectful and committed players who have the desire to improve themselves. If we can support greater access to some of the high-performance work we are doing and more generally to opportunities and experiences, then the players within the program can only benefit.”
The Melbourne Victory and SAS partnership will see the Club involved in sessions and at matches as well as providing elite expertise in strength and conditioning, player welfare and on field analysis.
