Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce the re-signing of defender Kayla Morrison for the 2023/24 Liberty A-League season.
The 27-year-old has signed on until the end of the 2024/25 season, seeing her enter her fourth season at Melbourne Victory after making 35 A-League Women’s appearances since debuting with the Club.
Morrison has been a central figure to Victory’s success over the past three seasons, lifting the Championship trophy in 2021 and bouncing back from an ACL injury this past season to play in every match of the 2022/23 campaign.
Melbourne Victory Director of Football, John Didulica said he was thrilled to have Morrison back leading the side for the season.
“We’re pleased to have Kayla back for another two seasons at Melbourne Victory,” Didulica said.
“There is no doubt Kayla has been a big part of our success over the past couple of seasons with her leadership and performances on the field and we believe she has even more to give this season.
“She has developed into one of the best defenders in the A-League Women’s competition and we’re excited to have her once again part of our squad for the upcoming season.”
Morrison was also excited to continue her time in Melbourne.
“It’s great to extend my time with this incredible group of girls and this great Club,” Morrison said.
“We have been through so much as a team over the past three seasons and I want to continue this special journey with my team.
“Our desire to taste success this season is greater than ever and that’s something I’m really excited to be a part of.”
Morrison is the first re-signing of the 2023/24 A-League Women’s season, joining the contracted group of Claudia Bunge, Beattie Goad, Jessika Nash and Miranda Templeman.
