Melbourne Victory wishes to thank Migjen Basha for his time at the club after he informed the football department he would be returning to Europe.
Basha said the decision to return home was made in the best interests of his family.
“I would like to thank Melbourne Victory for the way they welcomed me and my family,” Basha said.
“I have really enjoyed my time living in Melbourne, but I have made the decision to go back to Europe. This is the best solution for me and my family moving forward.
“Finally, I would like to wish the players and the club all the best for next season.”
General Manager of Football, Drew Sherman, thanked Basha for his professionalism during a difficult season.
“We understand why Migjen has decided to return to Europe, and we thank him for his time at Victory this season,” Sherman said.
“It’s been an extremely challenging season for the team, the reasons have been well documented, but Migjen has been extremely professional throughout.
“On behalf of everyone at Melbourne Victory we wish Migjen and his family all the best for the next chapter of his career.”
