Melbourne Victory Coach Kevin Muscat says his side has put the disappointment of its AFC Champions League knockout behind it, with the squad now primed for Sunday’s semi-final.
Press play on the video below to hear what Kevin Muscat had to say about the Champions League campaign and Sunday’s A-League semi-final, as the players hit the pool in Korea for recovery.
“We really haven-t got time to feel sorry for ourselves,” Muscat said.
“You can beat yourself up trying to analyse how we-ve managed to be knocked out by a single goal on goal difference. We can look back on goals conceded, or Kosta’s (Barbarouses) two chances against Yokohama that were both ruled offside that were actually onside, a late penalty shout in Korea.
“But the one thing for sure is that the playing group and football club should be proud of the way we-ve conducted ourselves, the way we-ve tried to win football games and the performances we-ve put on.”
Melbourne Victory returns to Melbourne on Thursday morning, before training Friday and Saturday, then heading to Brisbane for Sunday’s final.
