Wilson focused on becoming a better player “game-by-game”

Will Wilson is relishing the opportunity to feature more regularly for the senior team, but remains focused on improving as a player.

On the game against Sydney FC…

“Obviously results aren’t going our way, but it happens, you’ve just got to keep running, performing, trying to do our best.”

“(But) it all happens on the training pitch.”

“I feel like today we made a few great chances early on…second half we created a few chances as well. We’ve just got to [finish them off] in the final third a bit better.”

On getting a run of games in the senior team…

“It’s fantastic.”

“It’s my first year on a first-team deal so it was great to get some minutes in.”

“I had my first start this year as well which was a great accomplishment for me.”

“I’m just trying to get more minutes and help the team as much as I can, and to just keep becoming a better player game-by-game.”

“Hopefully I keep getting chances to prove myself.”

On the upcoming eight-day break…

“Short turnaround, long turnaround, it doesn’t matter for us.”

“We’ll train everyday as hard as we can to get better and better.”

“Doesn’t matter if it’s eight days, four days – we’re mentally strong enough to prepare for that and do our best when it comes to the time to play.”
