APL Board Announces Stephen Conroy as Executive Chair

The Board of the Australian Professional Leagues (APL) has been driving a comprehensive organisational transformation throughout 2024 to strengthen the future of Australian men’s and women’s professional football. 

● Conroy announced as Executive Chair of APL with immediate effect.
● Mandate to complete transformation of organisation.

With significant progress made both on and off the field, the Board has unanimously asked Chairman Stephen Conroy to take on an Executive role to lead the final phase of this transformation. 

As Executive Chairman, Conroy will oversee the optimisation of APL’s operations. Once this process is complete, he will return to his Non-Executive role. 

Throughout season 2024/25, the A-Leagues has continued to showcase entertaining football alongside growth in key metrics, with crowds up 14% year on year in the Isuzu UTE A-League Men, and free-to-air TV audiences on Network 10 increasing more than 15%, setting up an exciting finale to the regular season.
