James Troisi will wear the number 10 shirt in his return for Melbourne Victory, starting with Wednesday night’s Westfield FFA Cup match against Hume City.
Victory great Archie Thompson has endorsed the handover of the number 10, which he famously wore over 11 seasons at the club.
Thompson and Troisi played together at Victory during the latter’s first stint with the club from 2013-14.
A formal handover of the number 10 will be made at the club’s annual Open Day in the lead-up to the Hyundai A-League 2016/17 season.
