Due to the extreme weather expected across Victoria on Sunday, the kick off time for Victory Women’s match against the Western Sydney Wanderers has been changed.
Originally scheduled for 5pm, the match will now kick off at 8pm at Home of the Matildas, Bundoora.
Based on the latest weather forecasts, the Australian Professional Leagues’ (APL) in consultation with the Clubs has taken the proactive step of delaying the start of this Sunday’s Ninja A-League match between Melbourne Victory vs Western Sydney Wanderers.
In accordance with APL’s Heat Policy, A-League matches may be delayed or postponed where the Ambient Temperature measures at or above 38 degrees Celsius, and/or where the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) measures at 28 degrees Celsius or above.
APL’s weather forecast data for the Home of the Matildas on Sunday indicates that the Ambient Temperature may measure at or above 38 degrees Celsius at around 5:00pm.
With this in mind, APL in consultation with Melbourne Victory have determined to delay kick-off to 8:00pm AEDT in keeping with safety threshold measures prescribed within APL’s Heat Policy, and to allow fans and other stakeholders to proactively prepare for this adjusted kick-off time in advance.
