Melbourne Victory confirms A-League Men’s Assistant Coaches

Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce that Arthur Diles and Davide Del Giovine will join the Club’s A-League Men’s coaching staff under Head Coach Tony Popovic for the 2023/24 Isuzu UTE A-League season.

Diles joins the Club as an Assistant Coach and arrives from the Newcastle Jets, having previously worked with Popovic in Greece and at Western Sydney Wanderers where he was Head Coach of the National Youth League side, later becoming Head of Academy and an Assistant Coach at the Club.

Del Giovine will join the coaching ranks as Head of Goalkeeper Coaching, encompassing the A-League Men’s goalkeepers as well as the development of Academy goalkeepers. Giovine joins from Western Sydney Wanderers where he has been their Head of Goalkeeping since 2015.

Melbourne Victory Director of Football, John Didulica said the appointments will play a vital role in supporting the squad for the upcoming season.

“We’re incredibly pleased to be welcoming Arthur and Davide to our A-League Men’s coaching staff for the upcoming season,” Didulica said.

“Arthur comes to the Club with a wealth of experience at both senior Men’s level as well as youth and academy development and will be vital in implementing our brand of football, working closely with Tony Popovic in the past.

“Davide has significant experience at A-League and international level and has supported some of the best goalkeepers in the country at Club and youth international level, most recently working with the Joeys at the AFC U17 Asian Cup.

“We believe we have brought together some of the best coaching talent in the country to Melbourne Victory for the upcoming season and we look forward to seeing how our staff, along with our current coaching team, will bring the best out of our playing group.”

Melbourne Victory will prepare for the Australia Cup play-off against the Newcastle Jets in Darwin on Monday 17 July.
