Melbourne Victory to face Wrexham AFC

Melbourne Victory is pleased to confirm that the Club will face Welsh Football Club Wrexham AFC on Friday July 11 at Marvel Stadium.

Coming to Australia and New Zealand as part of a multi-city tour with TEG, Wrexham shot to the global stage following the Club being purchased by Hollywood stars and entrepreneurs Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds in 2021.

Having celebrated 20 years of Melbourne Victory in 2025, and a successful campaign in the 2024/25 A-Leagues Season, the Club will play the Welsh side in a match that promises to be a spectacle for all football fans.

Founded in 1864, Wrexham is the oldest professional football club in Wales, and the third-oldest in the world having achieved  record-breaking success after promotion to the Championship of the English Football League.

“We’re excited to test our squad against Wrexham, a Club that has risen to global prominence in recent years,” said Melbourne Victory Managing Director Caroline Carnegie.

“To play a team with such a rich history, in front of our passionate and loyal fans at Marvel Stadium, will be a fantastic experience for all football supporters.

“What makes this even more special is the alignment between our two clubs, which both Wrexham and Melbourne Victory both deeply connected to their communities and committed to growing the game.” Carnegie said.

The match will kick off at 7:30pm AEST on Friday 11 July at Marvel Stadium. Melbourne Victory Member pre-sale opens Wednesday, 14 May, 11:00am. Secure your tickets here.
