Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce that Chelsea Blissett has signed with the Club for the upcoming A-League season.
Coming from two seasons with Brisbane Roar, Blissett is a skilled left sided defender who enjoyed great success in the A-League over the course of six seasons, having represented Australia in the U19 National Team at the AFC U19 Women’s Championship.
With 69 Ninja A-League matches to her name, Blissett has shown great versatility in her performances in defensive structures, an asset that Victory’s Women’s Head Coach Jeff Hopkins said would be key to success for the Club moving forward.
“Chelsea is a very talented footballer and I’m very pleased to have her joining the squad for season 2025/26.” Hopkins said.
“The upcoming season is a huge opportunity for us to continue to build on the success of our 24/25 campaign, while also learning and improving in areas where we fell just short of our goals.
“We have some great talent joining our dressing room and I have no doubt that Chelsea will be one who can rise to the challenges we set as a team and give us her best performances in front of goal to help get wins on the board. I look forward to seeing her join the team come September.”
Returning to Melbourne, Blissett said she was excited about the challenges ahead.
“I’ve always enjoyed playing against Victory, as it’s a club that will force you to bring your best game, especially as a defender with their ability to score goals and win big games, so to now be joining this playing group is very exciting,” Blissett said.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to join Melbourne Victory and continue my career with Jeff and I hope to assist the team to find success again in 2026.”
Blissett joins new recruits Sienna Saveska, Kennedy White and Taylor Ray for the upcoming A-League season, together with the re-signings of Holly Furphy, Alana Jančeski, Sofia Sakalis, Courtney Newbon, Nicki Flannery, Rachel Lowe, Laura Pickett and Ella O’Grady.
