Melbourne Victory’s newest superstar Nani has achieved several remarkable feats throughout his career. Here are some of his most impressive numbers.

415 top-flight domestic league appearances

Across Portugal, England, Italy, Spain, Turkey and the USA, Nani has plied his trade at the highest level all around the world. 147 English Premier League matches for Manchester United highlights an impressive list of domestic league appearances which most recently includes a short stint in Italy’s Serie A with Venezia. Add to this more than 90 major intercontinental competition appearances, most of which came in the European Champions League with Manchester United, and Nani’s worldwide reputation is clear to see.

123 goals and 141 assists at club level

Nani’s record of goals and assists has been built up throughout his club career across all of the different countries in which he has played. 26 of his goals came in the English Premier League for Manchester United, as well as 9 goals in the European Champions League. However, Nani is perhaps even better known for his dazzling assist record. Often employed on the wing, Nani has proven to be a creative machine throughout his illustrious career.

112 Portugal national team appearances

Nani’s achievements are not limited to his records at various clubs. Nani is one of only seven players to have earned over 100 caps for the Portugal men’s national team. Nani also ranks eighth in the all-time scorers chart for the team with 24 goals, starting with a goal on debut against Denmark in 2006.

1 goal at a World Cup finals

Nani scored Portugal’s opening goal during their 2-2 draw with the USA during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

1 European Championship

Perhaps his single greatest achievement, Nani was integral to Portugal’s success at Euro 2016 in France. Nani scored three goals throughout the tournament, including Portugal’s second in their 2-0 semifinal win over Wales. Nani then wore the captain’s armband for the majority of their final win against France after teammate Cristiano Ronaldo was forced off with an injury after 25 minutes.

17 trophies

Alongside his European Championship, Nani has won plenty of other silverware throughout his career. Four Premier League titles, one European Champions League title and one Club World Cup all with Manchester United, as well as four domestic cup wins with childhood club Sporting Clube de Portugal highlight a supremely impressive trophy cabinet.
