Patrick Kisnorbo | Post-Match Comments v Brisbane

What Head Coach Patrick Kisnorbo had to say following Victory’s 2-0 win against Brisbane Roar on Saturday evening.

On the match…

“It was a different type of game.”

“We know they’re a good team. The difference was (the amount of) possession, but we limited them in a lot of shots.”

“There were some areas of the pitch that we had to defend quite a bit, which was at times difficult, but great to see our performances of late have been good.”

“I was very pleased with the discipline we showed, not to give too much away.”

“We were hard to break down.”

“We have two goals due to individual strengths.”

“It was great to see that the players dug in today in a different type of match [than] we’re used to.”

On the opening goal…

“Reno had a couple of early chances before to maybe assist or score.”

“He [did] a great dribble and Nish was in the areas that we want him to be and it was a great finish.”

On the club’s strong start…

“It’s great for the club.”

“But, for me, we’ve got to focus and try to get better and better every day.”

On Bruno Fornaroli’s absence…

“To be fair he’s been really good. He’s been engaged, he’s been working really hard.”

“Unfortunately, he was left out today.”

“Things change in football very quickly.”

On finding new ways to win…

“We’ve worked really hard and focused on that a lot.”

“We conceded a lot of late goals last season.”

“All of those things we really worked on in pre-season.”

“This needs to be the start and [we’ve] got to keep going.”

On Kasey Bos’ start to the season…

“Everybody needs time.”

“The great thing (is) he’s got Adama (Traore) next to him, teaching him, what he can learn from.”

“Adama helps him a lot and communicates with him a lot.”

“He’s only played four games, there’s a long way to go in his A-League career.”

On Jason Geria…

“I think Jason did well.”

“He’s been great.”

“I think that’s through confidence with playing in the national team.”

“He understands that he needs to keep going if he wants to be a top, top player.”

“He’s a great person, always willing to learn. Very humble. Very coachable.”

“We’re very fortunate to have him at this club.”
