Post-match Reaction: Jeff Hopkins on Dramatic Perth Draw

A-League Women’s coach Jeff Hopkins spoke to the media post-match after his side’s draw with Perth Glory.

On the performance…

“I was really pleased with a number of things in our game.”

“[This] is a hard place to come first of all. Perth are on a really good run at the moment.”

“To come here and nearly come away with three points, especially after being a goal down…I was really proud of the second half performance.”

“But obviously there are one or two things as well that we must do better.”

On the resilience shown in the second half…

“I was really pleased with the way that we passed the ball in the second half.”

“We took a few chances. We were brave on the ball. We had to receive the ball in areas where we potentially could lose it.”

“We were, I think, really brave, and we got rewarded for that as well.”

On Rachel Lowe’s performance…

“Rachel was involved in a lot of [our good play].”

“She’s been great since the time she [arrived at the club]. She’s getting better and better.”

“The players around her are starting to find her a little bit more and being able to combine with her.”

“For me, she’s the best midfielder in the competition at the moment.”
