Team News | Round 12 Extended Squads Named

Head Coaches Tony Popovic and Jeff Hopkins have named their extended squads ahead of Round 12.

Head Coach Jeff Hopkins has named his extended squad to take on second-placed Perth Glory.

It was a 2-2 draw last time out against the Glory with both goals coming from Rachel Lowe in the 79th and 84th minute.

An ankle injury to Lydia Williams last week meant the Matildas goalkeeper had to be taken off at half-time, and remains day-to-day heading into Friday afternoon, however, Emily Gielnik is expected to make her long-awaited return to action.

“We’re pretty confident that Emily Gielnik will be playing some part this week. She’s trained really well with a real intensity. She’s got a fair bit of volume into her now and yeah, she’s raring to go.”
