Melbourne Victory Football Club has declared its game against Perth Glory at Etihad Stadium on Sunday as ‘mates night- after launching a competition on its Facebook page where over one hundred groups of mates can win tickets, simply by pledging to come along in a group of five.

“With the match kicking of at 5pm on Sunday evening, we think it’s the perfect opportunity for our fans to not only get along to the game, but to bring their mates along too”, said Melbourne Victory captain, Adrian Leijer.

“And to further encourage groups of mates to get into the spirit of things, we’ve launched a ‘Mates-League- through our Facebook page — a competition that lets fans create a team with four mates for the chance to win five free tickets to the game”.

“All up, 130 of these teams will score free match tickets. Plus the top two teams will win an Ultimate Match Day Experience including VIP tickets, a meet n’ greet with the players and team photo on the pitch at half time”, Leijer added.

This news was announced on Tuesday as one very enthusiastic M-League team went above and beyond, parading around Melbourne in their ‘one size fits all- Melbourne Victory strip.
