Youth teams from across the state gathered at Darebin International Sports Centre on Sunday 17 February to contest the 3rd annual Melbourne Victory WorkSafe Victoria Regional Championships.

The one-day tournament brought together approximately 160 teenage stars of the future and was contested by teams representing Melbourne Victory, Springvale White Eagles FC, Bendigo City FC, Geelong Soccer Club and Gippsland Soccer Club.

The competing sides, pulled from NPL competitions across Victoria, had the opportunity to field both Under-15 and Under-18 squads for the day, with Melbourne Victory, Springvale White Eagles and Geelong Soccer Club entering teams in both age groups.

Bendigo City were represented at Under-15 level, whilst Gippsland FC entered an Under-18 group.

The result was a four team round robin in each age group, with the final points tally in each group deciding the winners.

Following an afternoon of excellent competition, Melbourne Victory emerged victorious in both the Under-15 and Under-18 tournaments.

Melbourne Victory would like to congratulate each of the participating clubs and players on their efforts and thank WorkSafe Victoria for their continued support of the Club’s community programs.
