Melbourne Victory’s DET Holiday Program, supported by the Department of Education and Training, concluded on Thursday as over 100 school students from disadvantaged backgrounds completed two four-day programs.
The students involved came from a wide range of schools around Melbourne and were each nominated by their respective schools to take part in the program.
Victory hosted a variety of activities throughout the four days that challenged students both physically and mentally, with the aim to keep them engaged and connected to education.
Led by Melbourne Victory’s Academy coaches, students participated in professional football training drills, a session at South Melbourne beach with Life Saving Victoria, wellbeing seminars led by industry experts from club partners TAC Victoria and Fuel Your Life, as well as a special visit to the IMAX theatre and Melbourne Museum.
