This week will be a hectic one for Broxham and his teammates, with the squad flying to China first thing on Monday morning.

Melbourne Victory’s first AFC Champions League group stage encounter takes place on Wednesday, against reigning champions, Guangzhou Evergrande.

The match, which will be broadcast live in to Australia on Fox Sports 1 at 11pm on Wednesday.

It will be a big test for Victory, who will then fly straight back to Melbourne for Saturday night’s Melbourne Derby.

Broxham said while the schedule was tough, the club was happy to be part of the biggest competition in Asia.

“We strive to be in this competition, so when you have to travel and play midweek, there’s no point in complaining about it,” Broxham said.

“It’s where you want to be, it’s the best competition you can play in Asia, so it’s something we are looking forward to.

“It is going to be tough, but it’s what we are paid to do and we are really looking forward to it.”
