Melbourne Victory has started its pre-season with a 3-0 win against Port Melbourne at JL Murphy Reserve.
Callum Goulding, Christian Theoharous and Pierce Waring were the goalscorers on a cool evening in Port Melbourne, with Theoharous in particular impressing during his 15-minute cameo as a substitute.
The 17-year-old was involved immediately after coming on, and put the game beyond doubt when he doubled the lead on 78 minutes.
It was the first hit-out in Victory colours for Rhys Williams, who impressed playing alongside James Donachie.
Trialists Jun Jae Choi and Jackson Bandiera played 45 minutes each at left-back, while youth team midfielders Josh Hope and Cameron McGilp started alongside Leigh Broxham in the middle of the park.
Next up for Victory is a trip to Bentleigh Greens on Wednesday, August 2 as it continues preparations for the FFA Cup clash against Brisbane a week later.
