This program is delivered by SEDA in conjunction with Melbourne Victory, with more options available from 2027.

SEDA Group RTO: 22503 works in collaboration with Melbourne Victory on marketing and promotional services relating to the recruitment of prospective students for this program.

Delivery

Format: The Diploma of Business is delivered through a flexible online model, enabling students to engage with industry-relevant learning, assessments, and support at their own pace while balancing work, sport, and personal commitments.

Monthly online workshops connected to each unit will be delivered by SEDA in conjunction with Melbourne Victory.

Duration: 1 year. Next intakes are 31 August 2026 and March 2027.

Qualifications

The Diploma of Business belongs to the Business Services Training Package which contains nationally recognised qualifications and units related to business, leadership, administration, customer engagement and workplace operations.

The BSB50120 Diploma of Business (Leadership) requires completion of 12 Units of Competency in total, consisting of 5 core units and 7 elective units. These include the following:

Assessment Methods

Study a curriculum that is directly developed alongside industry experts. Students will be assessed using a range of different methods including but not limited to the below:

Written Assessment — Short Answer Questions

A set of short answer questions based on the learning resources and unit requirements. Responses align to Performance Criteria (PC), Performance Evidence (PE), and Knowledge Evidence (KE), and are applied in a relevant context.

Written Assessment — Monitoring Logbook

Completed alongside performance evidence tasks, this logbook requires students to monitor implementation, track changes, and evaluate effectiveness. It supports active monitoring and adjustment in line with Performance Criteria (PC) and Performance Evidence (PE).

Written Assessment — Reflection Portfolio

A series of structured reflections where students evaluate their skill development over time. Typically linked to the planning, implementation, and monitoring of a project or individual.

Applied Quiz

Designed to assess the application of knowledge in realistic sport and business scenarios. Questions require students to interpret information, make decisions, and apply concepts in context.

Observation

Performing practical skills and observable behaviours assessed aligned to Performance Criteria (PC) and Performance Evidence (PE). Conducted in a real or simulated environment.

Video / Audio Visual Recording

Video or audio recording submission, such as a monologue or facilitated activity. Trainers assess observable skills and behaviours demonstrated in the recording.

Discussion Post

A written response shared in a discussion format. Students communicate ideas and concepts, often simulating workplace communication or collaboration.

Pre-Enrolment

Complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital (LLND) assessment, questionnaire and interview, all online.

Offer

Successful applicants will be sent an offer via email.

Enrolment

Once an offer is accepted, applicants will be required to complete their enrolment and be given access to our Learning Management System (LMS).

Higher Education Pathways

Graduates of the Diploma of Business powered by SEDA can gain direct entry** into a range of courses with leading tertiary providers.

Graduates may also receive credit points toward select units required to complete a course. The number of credits will vary by education provider, with a maximum of 8 credits (equivalent to 1 year’s worth of study) available for select courses.**
