Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce that Jeff Hopkins has re-signed as the Head Coach of the A-League Women’s side for the next two seasons.
Australia’s most successful domestic Women’s coach will continue into his eighth and ninth seasons in charge of Victory A-League Women’s program, most notably taking the side to back-to-back Championships in 2021 and 2022.
Hopkins has coached Victory to 99 A-League Women’s matches during his time in charge, notching an impressive 46-22-31 record over his seven seasons at the Club.
Melbourne Victory Director of Football, John Didulica said he was thrilled to have Hopkins continue in the role.
“We’re incredibly pleased to have Jeff continue as the A-League Women’s Head Coach for the next two seasons and look forward to seeing how the side continues to develop under his leadership,” Didulica said.
“Jeff’s transformation of the Women’s program during his time in the role has culminated in the Club’s most successful period in the competition and we’re looking forward to that continuing.
“He has a track record of developing young talent and getting the best out of all players that play under him and we can’t wait to get back to business and compete for the Championship once again.”
Hopkins was also pleased to continue his time at Victory.
“I’m incredibly proud to be able to lead this team for another two seasons and would like to thank everyone at the Club for their support and faith in what we have created here at Victory,” Hopkins said.
“I’m incredibly lucky to have such a special group of players who have been able to achieve so much over the past couple of seasons and I’m looking forward to achieving more success with this group.
“There is no doubt that I want to see this team lift trophies once again and I want to do everything I can to help them do that.”
Victory’s A-League Women’s side will return for pre-season training in July ahead of the 2023/24 Liberty A-League season.
