The generosity of Melbourne Victory Members last season has played an important role in the operation of the Afghan Women’s Team.
During the membership renewal and sign-up process in 2022/23, members were asked if they would like to contribute to the AWT through their membership which would go towards the team for the season ahead.
Our Members’ contributions were put towards player registrations, travel to training and matches, playing uniforms, coaching and support staff, equipment as well as health and wellbeing initiatives.
The squad – who sit top of the Women’s State League 3 East competition – has been welcomed with open arms from everyone at Melbourne Victory and their return to football would not be possible without the contribution of the Club’s Members through the AWT Membership Donation program.
In 2023/24, the Membership Donation program will be put towards the AWT as well as the Club’s new Community strategy that was launched in April this year. Click here to read more
The strategy, which draws on work that has taken place at the Club over many years, outlines the direction the Club will take to make football more accessible to young people.
These programs will provide benefits such as greater physical health, mental health, social connectedness, leadership skills and overall wellbeing.
