Melbourne Victory is thrilled to announce that the Club is welcoming back Jason Davidson until the end of the 2026/27 season.
Having previously played with the Club for the 2021/22 season, Davidson signed with Belgian First Division side K.A.S. Eupen ahead of the 22/23 season, before joining Panserraikos FC in the Greek Super League.
He has had a terrific impact on the international stage over the past 14 years, experiencing 23 caps with the Socceroos, including part of the squad on the road to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
With 28 matches for Victory across the A-League, Australia Cup and AFC Champions League, Davidson made a tremendous impression, scoring two goals including a free-kick that led to the 2021 Australia Cup triumph, the Club’s last trophy, and an A-League All-Stars selection.
Returning to Australia for the first time since 2022, Davidson said he was excited to be back for the upcoming A-League season.
“Returning to Victory after three years in Europe is incredibly exciting,” Davidson said.
“I’m looking forward to working with a quality team and the wonderful new coaching staff at the Club, with the aim of securing points and ultimately silverware for Melbourne Victory. I have nothing but fond memories of my previous time at the Club, and I loved being part of the Victory family – playing in front of, and making the best members and fans in the League proud.
“My time overseas has only made me more hungry for success. I intend to bring my best to the team, alongside the rest of the playing group, and help drive success this season.”
Melbourne Victory Head Coach Arthur Diles said he was thrilled to have Davidson joining the squad.
“Jason has proven his ability to be a game changer in both the A-League and on the international stage. We are thrilled to have him joining us for 2025,” Diles said.
“His ambitions and drive to contribute to success are perfectly aligned with the direction we are heading at Victory. Jason has shown that he possesses leadership and understands the expectations and culture we expect at the Club.
“I’m sure he will be a great asset and make a strong contribution each week. I have no doubt that our fans and members will be excited to welcome Jason back on the pitch.”
Davidson joins Sebastian Esposito, Franco Lino, Keegan Jelacic and Louis D’Arrigo who have signed with the Club for the upcoming season, along with the re-signings of Roderick Miranda, Santos, Adama Traore, Kayne Razmovski and Luka Kolić.
