Roderick Miranda expects every player to step up as Melbourne Victory hunt a return to winning ways.
Round 7 of the Isuzu UTE A-League sends Arthur Diles’ side to Macarthur FC on Friday, December 5, kick-off 7:35pm AEDT, with the primary objective being to collect a second three-point return of the 2025/26 season.
Victory last tasted success when they travelled to Perth Glory at the end of October, winning through strikes from Matthew Grimaldi and Juan Mata.
Unfortunately, goals have been hard to come by in recent outings, but the Captain is confident that no squad member is hiding from their responsibilities.
Speaking during his pre-match press conference, Miranda expects everyone at the Club to embrace the pressure.
“Everybody needs to hold each other accountable, not only myself or other senior players. I think everybody needs to have this desire from the inside to try to reverse the situation because it’s not the easiest situation.
“We are in this moment, tough games, tough losses, so it’s up to us as a team, as a collective with the fans to try to change this one. We have quality, we have a good squad to change a lot for the rest of the season.”

Miranda missed the start of the new term due to injury, but has since returned to action along with fellow absentees Louis D’Arrigo and Nishan Velupillay.
Back in the heart of defence, he has played every minute of the last three fixtures, and is relishing the next challenge – a Friday night football clash with Macarthur.
“It’s always good to play against good players, against tough opposition. They also need to be aware of our strength. Hopefully, we can start to score some goals, because we have chances; we just need to finish the end product.
“I think whenever we start to score, then things will change around. It’s been really unlucky, tough, but everybody’s believing. Everybody’s working hard each day in training sessions.”
