Chelsea Blissett is ready to meet expectations in the Ninja A-League Finals Series.
Melbourne Victory, if they are to claim a third Championship, will have to do it from the back of the pack, having finished sixth in the regular season.
Reaching Finals has not, though, been cause for a major celebration amongst the Girls in Blue, knowing that silverware at this time of the year is what the Club is renowned for.
Up first in the Elimination Final is a clash with Canberra United on Saturday, April 25, kick-off 2pm AEST at McKellar Park.
Speaking during her pre-match press conference, Blissett previewed the game in ACT through the lens of personal experience, having grown up as a Victory supporter.
“It actually is really exciting. I have little pinch myself moments that the club I grew up supporting is the club that I’m now going into my first Finals campaign in two years with.
“To know that we could possibly lift silverware and I could be lifting silverware with a bunch of girls who I love being around for a Club that I’ve supported since I remember loving football, it’s super exciting.”

Victory may have lost both meetings with Canberra during the regular season, but Blissett is only focusing on what is in front of her and the team.
“It is a whole new ballgame when it comes to Finals, especially the way that football is in this country. Obviously, it’s great to win the Premier’s Plate and be at the top of the ladder; you get a couple more benefits when it comes into the Finals campaign.
“But Victory are known for scraping in and doing well in Finals. I think you’ve got to go in with that fresh mentality that we can now win this.”
