A-League Men’s player departures

Melbourne Victory can confirm a number of departures from the A-League Men’s squad following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.

Adama Traore signs off from his third and longest spell representing the Club, having last returned to Melbourne in 2023.

Traore, recognised as ‘King’ by his teammates, has made 128 A-League appearances for the Boys in Blue and as a 13-time international, and the 2014 Victory Medallist, has always been an embodiment of professionalism and humility during his time at the Club.

Fellow defender Lachlan Jackson, midfielder Reno Piscopo and striker Nikos Vergos, all of whom were part of the 2025 Grand Final squad, will depart the Club at the end of their current contracts, expiring at the end of this month.

Jing Reec has also been released from his contract, allowing him to pursue other opportunities, and Emre Saglam returns to his parent club, Gençlerbirliği S.K, on the conclusion of this loan stint.

These departures follow the transfer of Joshua Rawlins to Dundee United.

Melbourne Victory Director of Football, John Didulica, commented:

“It is always a difficult time of year when you say farewell to players who have worked hard for the Club, day in and day out, and achieved great milestones as Victory players.

“Adama, in particular, is one of the most wonderful people in football and is rightly regarded as one of the greats of the A-League, whilst Lachie, Reno and Nikos have all created special moments and memories whilst with the Club.

“Players like Jing and Emre have worked their hardest as professionals and are now ready for new opportunities elsewhere and we wish them nothing but the best.”

As the Club prepares for the next A-Leagues season and its inaugural AFC Champions League Two campaign, it continues to assess its playing roster, and further updates will be communicated accordingly.
