Bunge continues Victory story

Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce that Claudia Bunge has re-signed.

The 26-year-old defender, who boasts 92 appearances across two stints for the Girls in Blue since joining in November 2020, is back for her sixth season at the Club fresh from an appearance for the Ninja A-League All Stars during the off-season.

This successful period at Victory features two Championships and her establishment as a regular centre-back for New Zealand, whom she represented at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Melbourne Victory Director of Football, John Didulica, commented:

“Claudia has been a wonderful contributor for Melbourne Victory, setting standards and producing big moments at both ends of the pitch for many years now.

“She is a trusted teammate within the group and having a player of her pedigree re-sign is very important to achieving our ambitions.”

Bunge said:

“Ahead of a World Cup year, I want to keep fighting at the top, competing for silverware and, in my opinion, there is no better place and environment to be doing that.

“Melbourne Victory has given me so much; I will keep giving my all at every opportunity, and I am as driven as anybody to deliver here.”
