Melbourne Victory players Carlos Hernandez, Jose Luis Lopez, Grant Brebner and Leigh Broxham visited children in the Starlight Express Room at the Royal Children-s Hospital last week, spreading some welcomed Christmas cheer.
The players handed out gifts, signed autographs, posed for photos and joined in the fun and games in the Starlight Express Room, before heading up to the wards to visit children who were unable to make it down to the Starlight Express Room.
One very excited Victory fan was young Takoda, with the impact of the Victory visit being expressed by Takoda-s mother Lauren.
“The Starlight Express Room gives kids a break; they can relax and just be themselves,” Lauren said.
“Both Takoda and his brother Jett love football so we were extra excited when they heard the players were coming into the room, it also helps distract Takoda on what he is going through in hospital.”
