Dowie Victory’s first W-League Golden Boot winner

Natasha Dowie became the first Melbourne Victory player in history to win the Westfield W-League Golden Boot.

The Victory captain finished the regular season with seven goals, the equal most with the Western Sydney Wanderers’ Kristen Hamilton, Perth Glory’s Morgan Andrews and Sydney FC’s Remy Siemsen.

Dowie, 31, is Victory’s all-time leading goalscorer and became the club’s first Westfield W-League Golden Boot winner.

Round 2 v Brisbane Roar
Dowie’s first of the season came from the penalty spot as she sent Roar goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold the wrong way after being brought down in the area.

The second was pure class. Dowie chested down a Teigen Allen pass before acrobatically volleying into the bottom corner from just inside the area.

Round 8 v Newcastle Jets
Dowie started 2020 with the opener against the Jets at AAMI Park. Rosie Sutton flicked on Darian Jenkins’ cross before Dowie headed into the bottom corner.

Round 10 v Adelaide United
She also scored the opener in Adelaide. Dowie clinically put away Amy Jackson’s cutback from the left.

Dowie’s second sealed the win as she volleyed in from inside the area after a Jenkins header inside.

Round 11 v Canberra United
She sealed the win over Canberra. Jackson delivered a cross from the left to the back post, where Dowie headed in.

Round 13 v Newcastle Jets
Dowie got on the end of an Angela Beard pass before lobbing Jets goalkeeper Claire Coelho from just inside the area in Victory’s biggest ever Westfield W-League win.
