A-League preview: Victory v City

A-League preview: Victory v City

Melbourne Victory’s final game of the A-League season comes against City in a Derby clash on Sunday.

Summary

Victory aims to finish the campaign with a second straight win, hosting City behind closed doors at AAMI Park.

Amid a coronavirus outbreak in Melbourne, the encounter was moved from Marvel Stadium.

Victory goes into the clash on the back of a 6-1 thrashing of Western United last time out.

Elvis Kamsoba scored a brace to go with strikes from Jake Brimmer, Rudy Gestede, Ben Folami and Jacob Butterfield in an outstanding performance.

Victory dominated Western United, particularly in the first half, scoring four times in the opening 36 minutes in an electric display.

Kamsoba, Brimmer and Gestede have each scored five goals for Victory in the A-League this season.

Victory will be without Dylan Ryan for the meeting with City, with the defender away on international duty with the Olyroos.
