Academy Preview: NPL3 visit North Sunshine, Juniors at home

NPL3

Melbourne Victory will be looking to keep their distance at the top of the NPL3 table on Friday night as they face North Sunshine at Larissa Reserve.

Joe Palatsides’ side went down to second placed Caroline Springs Geroge Cross last week, seeing the gap to top spot bridged to four points with the opposition having a game in hand.

Victory will look to bounce back against North Sunshine who have bolstered their side in the mid-season transfer window after a form slump that saw them drop off the pace of the front runners.

Wins in the last two weeks over Nunawading and Geelong have North Sunshine buoyed again and they will be looking to avenge the 3-2 result the last time the sides met in April where Tim Atherinos, Will Wilson and Alex Menelaou secured the result.

Redounane Sarakh is North Sunshine’s player to watch, scoring 12 goals this season and sitting second in the Golden Boot race.

The Under 20’s 14-point buffer at the top of the table has meant that they will be crowned Champions if they pick up three points against North Sunshine.

Victory face North Sunshine on Friday night at Larissa Reserve, kick-off 8.30pm Under 20’s 6.15pm.
