Dynamic Duo Inserra and Badolato Named in U20 National Squad

Melbourne Victory is proud to confirm that Josh Inserra and Alex Badolato have been named in the Australian U20 National Team for the upcoming tour of Argentina.

The pair returns to the squad following Australia’s historic triumph at the AFC U20 Asian Cup in February, having made significant contributions to Melbourne Victory’s A-League Men’s side this season.

With Melbourne Victory currently competing in another Finals Series, Director of Football John Didulica said the selections are a testament to the quality and consistency of their performances.

“The success of the under 20 team in winning the Asian Cup was a great moment for the football community and for Josh and Alex to have another opportunity to prepare for the 2025 World Cup with this team is fantastic for them.

Argentina is an incredible challenge but an equally exciting opportunity for them to test their great development and growth with Victory his season.”

Young Socceroos Head Coach Trevor Morgan included Inserra and Badolato in his final squad, which will depart Australia on June 1. The Young Socceroos will play two international friendlies against Argentina’s U20 side during the May-June FIFA international window.

The first match will be held at the Lionel Messi Complex on June 6, with the second taking place at Club Atlético Barracas Stadium on June 9.
