Emily Gielnik departs Melbourne Victory

Melbourne Victory can confirm that Emily Gielnik will depart the Club for an overseas opportunity with Mexican Liga MX Club, C.F. Monterrey at the expiry of her contract.

Since joining Victory in 2023, her second stint with the Club, Gielnik quickly established herself as a vital member of the squad, making 35 appearances over two seasons with an impressive 21 goals and 3 assists. Having earned the Club’s 2025 Golden Boot award, the 33-year-old was a constant attacking threat, earning a recent call-up to the Matildas in June 2025.

Melbourne Victory Director of Football John Didulica thanked Gielnik for her contribution to the Club and wished her all the best for the next chapter of her career.

“Emily has been a great servant of Melbourne Victory and she is loved and admired by everybody at the Club. We are thankful for the many seasons she has spent here,” Didulica said.

“We are extremely proud that the professionalism of our women’s program has been able to build Emily back to full fitness. It’s great to see her back to her best after her disappointment at missing the 2023 World Cup, to the point where she has won our Golden Boot, been reinstated to the Matildas, and given an opportunity to continue her career in a leading global competition.”
