Melbourne Victory have thrown their support behind this year’s Fair Play tournament and engaged the fans to represent the club all to help underprivileged young people in Cambodia.
Fair Play is a fundraising event focusing on the good that football can do on a local, national and international level. Money raised on the day goes towards providing football programs and personal mentoring programs to underprivileged young people in Australia and Cambodia.
Melbourne Victory wanted to share the experience with the fans and ran a competition to select four girls and four boys to represent Melbourne Victory at the Fair Play five-a-side tournament next Monday, March 10.
The final eight were chosen and were put through their paces on Gosch-s Paddock to prepare them to challenge for the Jinta trophy.
Melbourne Victory is adding their own flavour to the event this year by creating a FREE World Cup style tournament for under 12-s and under 10-s. This tournament is a 4 v 4 format (6 per team) and the 32 team tournament will celebrate grassroots football with a World Cup theme. It promises to be a great day of fun and football.
