Melbourne Victory meets PlayStation 4 NPL Victoria powerhouse Bentleigh Greens in the Westfield FFA Cup 2016 Quarter Finals at Kingston Heath on Tuesday night.

The Greens, this year’s Dockerty Cup winners and PS4 NPL Victoria premiers, are looking to reach the Westfield FFA Cup Semi Finals for the second time in three years.

They come up against Victory, the reigning Westfield FFA Cup winners keen to continue their promising pre-season on the eve of the Hyundai A-League 2016/17 season.

Victory has endured mixed performances so far this Cup campaign, winning impressively against Newcastle Jets in the Round of 32 before a scrappy triumph over Hume City in the last 16.

Bentleigh breezed through the preliminary rounds without conceding a goal, before a thriller in the Round of 32 against South Australian side MetroStars.

On that night, the Greens won a tense penalty shootout 4-3 after MetroStars equalised in second-half injury time, and again in the 113th minute, to force spot-kicks.

In the Round of 16, an extra-time winner from Matthew Thurtell against Devonport City was enough for Bentleigh to earn a shot at Victory.

Victory head coach Kevin Muscat said on Monday the club has a full list to choose from heading into the match, and he expects it to be a tough encounter.

“We go up against a team that’s well organised and well coached, and from our perspective, our attitude’s got to be right,” Muscat said.

“We’re going to have to perform well to reward ourselves with a win.”
