Melbourne Victory defeated Perth Glory 1-0 on Tuesday night to secure progression to the FFA Cup Round of 16.
Victory’s goal scorer in the 2018 Grand Final, Kosta Barbarouses opened the scoring for late in the first half.
Josh Hope found the Kiwi in plenty of space on the right side of the penalty area and a low driven shot across goal was enough to beat Liam Reddy.

With both sides in the early stages of pre-season, it was a relatively even first half as the players worked their way into the game.
Perth Glory upped the ante in search of an equaliser in the second half but couldn’t break down Melbourne’s defence, which included new signings Storm Roux and Corey Brown.
Victory was drawn to face APIA Leichhardt in the Round 16, details to be confirmed in the coming days.
