Melbourne Victory’s Westfield W-League coach Jeff Hopkins has been nominated for the 2019 Vicsport Coach of the Year award.

Hopkins’ nomination comes after he guided Victory’s W-League side to its maiden Premiership during the 2018/19 season.

This award recognises Victorian coaches who have achieved outstanding coaching performance with Victorian athletes or teams at a state, national, international, or elite sport level during the 2019 year.

Hopkins is up against netball coach Lisa Alexander, swimming coach Scott Talbot and mogul skiing coach Peter McNeil.

The Victorian Sport Awards is the night of nights for the Victorian sporting community.

In partnership with the Victorian State Government, the awards recognise and celebrates the achievements of Victoria’s home grown sporting heroes and legends.

The awards night will be held on Wednesday 26 February 2020 at Marvel Stadium.
