Melbourne Victory can confirm Portuguese forward, Luis Nani has suffered a rupture of his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
Scans on Saturday confirmed the full extent of the injury suffered in the final moments of Friday night’s clash with Brisbane Roar at AAMI Park.
Head Coach, Tony Popovic said everyone at Melbourne Victory is devastated by the news.
“Our fears were confirmed after the scan results on Saturday and we’re all disappointed for Luis,” Popovic said.
“Luis has been a big influence around the Club through his leadership and experience, and he will be an incredible loss for our squad.
“The entire Club will rally around Luis and will support him through his recovery.”
