Melbourne Victory can confirm goalkeeper Matt Acton sustained a foot injury during Sunday’s clash with Western Sydney Wanderers at AAMI Park.
Scans were undertaken earlier this week and confirmed the need for Acton to undergo surgery to address an avulsion fracture.
The goalkeeper’s expected recovery period is up to six weeks.
