Melbourne Victory teamed up with its major sponsor Intralot on May 6 to put on a special afternoon for some lucky children at the Darebin International Sports Centre, Thornbury.

The Green Gully Football Club and the Bulleen Football Club provided children from six to 14-years old with the opportunity to play with their sporting heroes, while improving their own football skills.

Melbourne Victory stars Archie Thompson, Kevin Muscat, Nick Ward and Adrian Leijer were all too happy to participate, showing the kids a few skills, signing autographs, appearing in photos and enjoying a sausage sizzle afterwards.
Intralot spokesperson Adam Gillies highlighted the importance of grass roots football, and spoke from experience when he said “these clinics have proved very successful in the past, and Intralot couldn-t be more thrilled that these kids get to meet their heroes.”

The kids participated in an hour-long clinic with the Melbourne Victory players, followed by question time and some early dinner. They also received showbags with mini footballs, scarves, stickers and autograph cards as part of the experience.

Melbourne Victory and Intralot are looking forward to similar projects in the future.
