Preview
Leigh Broxham is set to bring up another milestone when Melbourne Victory hosts Western United in the Isuzu UTE A-League on Wednesday.
Broxham, 34, is one game away from reaching 350 league matches in Victory colours.
The Club great is also in line to become just the third player to achieve that feat in Isuzu UTE A-League history, but first to manage it for a single team.
The encounter against Western United will be Victory’s fifth outing this month and comes just four days after a 1-1 Derby draw against City.
Marco Rojas opened the scoring, but Victory was left to lament missed chances as the spoils were shared.
Rojas’ goal was his second in three Isuzu UTE A-League games, with the New Zealander tucking away a finish after Ben Folami’s pass.
Folami was in electric form for Victory and the attacker has been rewarded for his performances with a call up to the Socceroos squad.
Victory will also be without Nick D’Agostino, who is in the Australia setup after his goalscoring form this campaign.
The draw against City means Victory is unbeaten in four league games ahead of hosting Western United.
Victory is sixth on the table, but has games in hand on all five teams above it.
