Jamilla Rankin departs Melbourne Victory for TSG Hoffenheim

Melbourne Victory can confirm that defender Jamilla Rankin will depart the Club to take up an opportunity with German Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old joined Melbourne Victory at the start of the 2023/24 season making 10 appearances over the season for Jeff Hopkins’ side.

Melbourne Victory Director of Football, John Didulica said the Club was proud to be able to provide the springboard for Rankin to begin her journey in Europe.

“Although we would have loved to have Jamilla at Melbourne Victory for a longer period, we’re thrilled to be able to provide another opportunity to an exciting young player that will see Jamilla play at the highest level abroad,” Didulica said.

“To be able to transfer players from the A-League Women into Europe, the US and Asia is a massive step forward for women’s football and is an important part of consolidating and growing our investment in pathways for girls and women.”

“We wish Jamilla the best for her next chapter at Hoffenheim and hope to see her achieve big things in Europe.”
