Melbourne Victory will head to Perth and take on Bayswater City SC, for the club-s first ever FFA Cup clash in August.

Playing in the NPLWA league, the state’s top flight, Bayswater City has long been a well known side in WA, having formed in 1962.

The side is coached by former Socceroo and Perth Glory star, Chris Coyne.

Head Coach Kevin Muscat said he couldn-t wait to get his side-s FFA Cup campaign underway.

“We are really looking forward to heading west and taking on Bayswater City in August,” Muscat said.

“Every football fan would know of the great stories that we hear from England-s FA Cup competition and I-m looking forward to that same magic being created here in Australia through the FFA Cup.

“We-ll start our pre-season training next week with a view to making sure we are fit and firing for the FFA Cup.”

Having finished fourth in the 2013/14 Hyundai A-League season, Melbourne Victory was placed in to Pot A and could only draw non A-League opposition, while teams who finished in the bottom six will take on their fellow A-League sides in the Round of 32.

Details around match ticketing, venue information and kick-off times and dates will be confirmed on Monday, June 30 and all information will be available on MelbourneVictory.com.au as it happens.
