Melbourne Victory extends Will Wilson and Matt Bozinovski’s contracts

Melbourne Victory is proud to announce the contract extension of academy graduates, Will Wilson and Matt Bozinovski.

Wilson has inked a contract with the Club until the end of the 2024/25 Isuzu UTE A-League season, having made eight A-League appearances over the past two seasons, after working his way through the academy system and impressing at all levels.

Bozinovski has extended his contract for a further season, making his starting debut at A-League level this season and making five senior appearances throughout 2022/23 to date.

Melbourne Victory Director of Football, John Didulica said the duo have made positive progress over the past 18 months.

“We’re incredibly pleased to be able to lock in two emerging players for the next couple of seasons and we look forward to driving their continued progression at Melbourne Victory,” Didulica said.

“Will has shown that he has qualities capable of making an impact in the A-League and that he has the dedication to compete at the highest level.  We are thrilled to be able to see more of him in Victory colors.

“Matt spent last season on loan at Wellington and returned to the Club during pre-season with renewed focus. His development at training and his performances in the A-League this season have reflected his focus and growth. We believe he is in the right environment to continue his pathway as a footballer and as a leader.”

“Seeing academy graduates come through our system and earn senior appearances is rewarding for everyone involved. Will and Matt have shown greater maturity this season and with that comes the potential to be important players for Melbourne Victory, now and into the future.

Wilson is also thrilled to continue his time at his boyhood Club.

“I’m really excited to extend my time at Victory and appreciate the faith the coaches and staff have put in me at the Club,” Wilson said.

“I’ve had incredible experiences at the Club, from the Australia Cup to my senior debut, and I’m looking forward to making many more great memories here at Victory.”

Bozinovski is also excited to be extending his time at the Club.

“I’m delighted to secure my place at Melbourne Victory for another season and I’m looking forward to achieving big things with the Club,” Bozinovski said.

“Victory have played a big part in my journey as a footballer and to continue that pathway here is something special.”

Wilson and Bozinovski’s extensions join the signings of Fernando Romero, Damien Da Silva, Bruce Kamau, Connor Chapman and Bruno Fornaroli and the re-signing of Ben Folami during the January transfer period.
