Melbourne Victory is pleased to confirm the signing of Young Socceroo Alex Badolato on loan for the remainder of the 2024/25 Isuzu UTE A-League season.
Arriving from the Western Sydney Wanderers, the 19-year-old midfielder will join the A-League Men’s squad at the conclusion of his international duties with the Young Socceroos at the AFC U20 Asian Cup in Shenzhen, China.
Badolato started for the Young Socceroos in last night’s 5-1 win over the Kyrgyz Republic in Australia’s opening match of the tournament.
Melbourne Victory Head Coach Arthur Diles said Badolato is an important addition to the team going into the last third of the season.
“We’re very pleased to welcome a player of Alex’s pedigree to the Club,” Diles said.
“Alex has enormous quality and he will add further talent and depth to our midfield and attacking third. We are focussed on silverware this season and have no doubt that adding players like Alex, and Lachlan (Jackson) during this window, will help get us one step closer to our goals.”
