Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce the signing of attacker Alana Jancevski for the 2024/25 Liberty A-League season.
The 21-year-old joins the Club from Adelaide United where she spent the past season, making her name in the A-League Women’s at Perth Glory where she made 25 appearances and scored five times over two seasons.
The Victorian native has appeared for the Club once before, participating in Victory’s 2019 AFC Women’s Club Championship campaign but will make her A-League Women’s debut for the side this season.
Jancevski has also represented her country at the Junior Matildas level and has been a regular in Victorian football during the A-League Women’s off-season, most recently representing Heidelberg United.
Melbourne Victory Head Coach Jeff Hopkins said he was thrilled to welcome one of the state’s best players to Melbourne Victory.
“We’re incredibly pleased to secure Alana’s signature for the upcoming season,” Hopkins said.
“We had Alana at the Club as a young player during our AFC Club Championship campaign and to have her back here at Victory after an impressive stint away from Victoria is a very exciting prospect for us at the Club.
“Alana is a creative, dynamic attacker who can play across the middle and front third and has an incredible eye for goal that we think can complement our attacking group.
Jancevski was also looking forward to returning to her home state for the upcoming A-League Women’s season.
“I’m excited to be back home playing in front of family and friends for Melbourne Victory, the club I grew up supporting since I was a little girl,” Jancevski said.
“Victory has become one of the powerhouses in Women’s football in the country and to join a team that has tasted success over the past couple of seasons drives me to be a part of that.
“With more A-League Women’s experience under my belt, I feel like now is the right time to return to Melbourne Victory and establish myself as an important contributor to the team.”
Jancevski is the first new signing of the A-League Women’s pre-season as the team returns to training on Monday 23 September in preparation for the 2024/25 campaign.
