Melbourne Victory signs Emily Kos to scholarship contract

Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce the signing of defender Emily Kos to a scholarship contract for the 2022/23 Liberty A-League season.

Originally residing from New South Wales where she played for Sydney Olympic, North Shore Mariners and Marconi Stallions, the 25-year-old joins the Club following an impressive debut season for NPL Victoria side, Box Hill United.

Kos made her A-League Women’s debut for the Club on Saturday, coming off the bench against Western United and will be a permanent member of the squad for the current season.

Melbourne Victory Head Coach, Jeff Hopkins said Kos will add defensive depth to his squad for the upcoming season.

“Emily has been impressive during her trial period with the A-League Women’s squad and at NPL level and we’re looking forward to having her part of the team for the upcoming season,” Hopkins said.

“She can play a range of positions across the defence and will provide strong competition to our current squad.”

Kos was also excited to sign her first professional contract with Melbourne Victory.

“I’m incredibly pleased to be joining a Club like Melbourne Victory for my first experience in the A-League Women’s,” Kos said.

“Jeff and the team have a strong desire to ask for the best from every member of the squad in every game and session and I’m looking forward to learning as much as I can with the squad this season.”
