Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce the signing of Jordi Valadon to a scholarship contract until the end of the 2024/25 Isuzu UTE A-League season.
Valadon (20) made his senior A-League Men’s debut for the Club last season, coming off the bench against Macarthur and starting against Brisbane Roar in April, playing a role in the side’s final rounds of the season.
The talented midfielder has starred at NPL level with the Academy side during the off-season and will look to continue his rise to the first team in 2023 as he becomes a more permanent fixture in the senior squad.
Melbourne Victory Director of Football, John Didulica said he was thrilled to have Valadon continue his time at Victory after an impressive 12 months at the Club.
“Jordi has impressed everyone with his work ethic and attitude since arriving at Melbourne Victory and we’re pleased to have him as a part of our A-League Men’s squad this season,” Didulica said.
“It’s exciting to see prospects like Jordi flourish in a senior environment and his debut last season was something he earned and will now push him and the rest of our young players to work even harder to earn their spot on the team.
“We have a young, talented group coming through our Academy at Melbourne Victory and we believe that this year’s crop of scholarship players have the potential to make a great impact at senior level.”
Valadon was also pleased to be able to join the senior side on a full-time basis.
“I’m excited to be signing on with the Club and looking forward to the season ahead with the first team,” Valadon said.
“Last season was only a small taste for me but I’m determined to continue working hard and taking any opportunity that comes my way to help the team achieve success this season.”
Valadon joins Franco Lino and Joshua Inserra as the latest players to join the first team from Victory’s Academy ahead of the 2023/24 season. The group will join the A-League Men’s side as they return to training in July ahead of the Australia Cup playoff on Monday 17 July against Newcastle Jets in Darwin.
